The OpenMic/AfriCourage festival brings together international and regional music stars to celebrate the power of music and the strength of the civil society. When: December 28, 2019 Where: Banjul AfriCourage aims to encourage and enhance integration, participation, cooperation, engagement, tolerance and democracy. The programme is ongoing – in 2019, AfriCourage is guest of the OpenMicFest in The Gambia’s capital Banjul. The festival line-up includes Baaba Maal, the Ensemble Modern, Killa Ace, Jali Madi, Journal Rappé, Smockey, Sambou Souso, Tatadindin, Wimme & Rinne plus the Liberation Orchestra of Inverted Traditions, featuring the above artists in a spectacular, never-to-be-repeated collaboration, blending the traditions of visiting artists with local West African grooves. The AfriCourage programme will be the first festival to be broadcast live to the world by the European Broadcast Union. Furthermore, AfriCourage provides professional training from the worlds of festival presentation, event management, promotion, sound technology and media.
