#GameStop #RobinHood #Citadel Full Game Stopped Hearing (House Committee on Financial Services): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfEuNHVPc_k On February 18th, 2021, the House Committee on Financial Services held the first of several hearings to investigate the speculative activity that occurred in GameStop and several other “Meme” stocks. Earlier this year, meme stocks were targeted by amateur and institutional investors which led to massive short squeezes. Traders in the WallStreetBets Reddit community made millions while hedge funds such as Melvin Capital lost billions. The situation became so volatile that Robinhood, alongside several other retail brokers, had to halt buying activity in the stocks that were being squeezed. The witnesses in this hearing include Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev, Citadel CEO Ken Griffin, Melvin Capital founder and chief investment officer Gabe Plotkin, Reddit co-founder and CEO Steve Huffman, newly minted millionaire and retail investor Keith Gill a.k.a. “Roaring Kitty”, and CATO Institute Director of Financial Regulation Studies Jennifer Schulp.
