With obesity rates in the United States rising dramatically in the past 20 years and resulting illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease climbing alongside, Whole Foods Market has been one of the most innovative companies in helping its employees to eat and live healthier. CEO John Mackey addressed the issue at the 8th Annual World Health Care Congress in Washington D.C. during an exclusive one-on-one interview following his keynote presentation. Mr. Mackey also shares his thoughts on the United States' efforts to reform health care, and why the country could benefit from adopting a system similar to Switzerland's.
