But the truth is – the people you see cutting already spent years building muscle through bulking. That’s why they look aesthetic after a cut. 👉 If you cut too early, you’ll only look skinny with bones showing, because you never had enough muscle mass in the first place. ✅ If you have a lot of body fat, staying in a deficit works since your body will use stored fat for energy while building some muscle. ✅ But if you’re skinny or skinny-fat, focus on muscle building for at least 2 years at maintenance or a slight surplus. Once you’ve built enough muscle, then think about cutting.
