Ready for another? The wetland rap is gonna blow you away! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X33FX8pG-Dc -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- This one's from my friend, Bill Oliver, the original eco-troubadour! He wrote this for a group of Junior Girl Scouts called the "Lightning Bolts" to sing at the Children's Climate Change March on Earth Day 2015. When I heard the song, I thought it was brilliant and knew I had to make a video for it. It addresses climate change (aka "global warming") but in a fun way; something I've been thinking about doing for a long time but couldn't figure out how. I've posted a holiday science song every year for the last four years so here's 2015's tune for you. Lyrics: Quit Messing With Santa Claus by Bill Oliver It’s bad enough we’re messing with the polar bear With all the poisons that we’re putting in the air We’re breaking Mother Nature’s laws And we’re messing with Santa Claus! We’re messing with Santa Claus Every time another glacier thaws Every time an iceberg dissolves Chorus Quit messing with Santa Claus! (4x) We know that what affects the stratosphere Also hurts the caribou and reindeer Exxon Mobil sponsoring Iditarod Had to bring in snow because Alaska’s hot Chorus Everyone knows Santa lives at the North Pole (north pole!) Everyone knows the North Pole is supposed to be cold (cold!) Everyone knows Rudolph has a red nose (red nose!) Rudolph is the leader but Rudolph is losing his home (oh, no!) We’re messing with rising seas Sea turtles and coral reefs Quit messing with the trees that breathe Quit messing with wolverines Quit messing with the wind and rain Cyclones and hurricanes Quit messing with the seismic jolts Quit messing with the Lightning bolts! Chorus
