Katherine Svenkeson is a seventeen years old attending Holy Trinity High School. She is an avid comic book reader and tries to keep up with the local music scene. When she isn’t going to school, working, or participating in drama productions, she occasionally has time for reading and getting a nap in. She hopes to get accepted into NAIT’s radio program in the upcoming fall semester and explore the radio industry. Her talk revolves around apathy, including its role in our lives, our growing acceptance of it, and why we need to fight it. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
