I caught some interesting footage and wanted to share. My feeling was that the removal(that these bees came from) was close to swarming(because of population and crowding) and so when I cut/reorganized their comb and created all of that disturbance a large percentage of the population was "displaced", kinda like "refugees". They spent a few days on their own and I could tell they were queenless(the queen was laying in the 8 frame boxes with the other half of the bees). So after a few days of settling(and a little disturbance) they made a decision to move back in. What was cool and insightful to me was that they did it in stages. They clustered near the colony, then nearer, then just outside the entrance, then the next day they were inside. It got me thinking about all the roles and responsibilities and integration taking place.
