Some owners of the new Gigabyte RTX 50 graphics cards are seeing a strange and worrying problem: the thermal gel inside the card is melting and dripping down. This gel is supposed to help keep the graphics card cool by sitting on top of important parts like the memory modules. But when it starts to drip, those parts can become uncovered and may get too hot over time. The issue first came to light when a user noticed the thermal gel dripping toward the PCIe interface, especially when the graphics card was mounted in a vertical position. Gigabyte said the problem is not serious and claimed the card would still work fine in all directions. They admitted that some of the first cards had too much thermal gel, but they fixed that in later batches. Still, they did not recall any cards or offer a clear fix.
