4 more notes for making homemade vanilla extract! 👇️ I stopped buying store bought vanilla extract a few years ago because it’s just SO easy to make at home. 1. You should use 1 oz vanilla beans per cup of liquor. 2. You really don’t have to use super high quality alcohol. I know that I used a pretty nice brand, but I typically use what I have on hand. We’re normally gifted alcohol during the holiday season, but we’re not big drinkers. So we cherish the gifts in other ways. 🥰 3. Ideally this should infuse for 4-6 months. Once you have it going, you can keep adding more beans and alcohol so it’s always going on a rolling basis. 4. This will save SO much $$ and is such a higher quality product than what you buy at the grocery store. At the store you’re typically paying $5 per ounce, and this came out to $1.65 per ounce! I think this is such a fun DIY and would love to know if you’d give it a try? #GoingZeroWaste #frugal #thingsidontbuyanymore #vanilla #homemadevanillaextract #vanillaextract
